Peterson, Johnson & Murray, LLC Peterson, Johnson & Murray, LLC Oak Brook, IL Oak Brook, IL Full-time Full-time $30 - $40 an hour $30 - $40 an hour 20 hours ago 20 hours ago 20 hours ago Duties - Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases - Assist attorneys in drafting legal documents, such as contracts, pleadings, and briefs - Manage and organize legal files and documents - Maintain calendars and schedule appointments for attorneys - Prepare and file legal documents with courts and government agencies - Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel in a professional manner - Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and preparing witness materials - Perform general clerical duties, such as answering phones, taking messages, and photocopying documents Requirements - Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience - Previous experience working as a legal assistant or in a similar role preferred - Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures - Proficient in legal research techniques and using online legal databases - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Attention to detail and accuracy in all work performed - Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) - Familiarity with case management software is a plus Please note that this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
