Sr. Director, Field Operations

OverviewSeeking nurses with strong leadership experience who are located or willing to relocate to the Chicagoland area.
This is a hybrid position and will require working in our central office located in Oakbrrok Terrace, IL.

The Sr.
Director of Accreditation & Certification Operations is responsible for leading, managing, and overseeing strategic planning, budgeting & financial management, human resource & workforce planning, talent acquisition and talent retention, employee engagement, education, and the overall execution of activities and programs for work performed by ACO field representatives, in alignment with the strategic direction set by the Executive Vice President/ Chief Nursing Officer.
Provides leadership and strategic direction to their Field Directors and all field representatives to ensure the surveyor and reviewer evaluations provided to customers are delivered professionally, are thorough & consistently aligned to our standards, and with a high level of customer service excellence and expertise.
Works closely with the EVP and other members of the ACO Leadership team and Central Office divisions to identify and execute operations efficiencies and to strategize and develop short and long-term plans that usher in new levels of productivity and success for the division.
ResponsibilitiesLeadership:
Collaborates with the EVP to provide insights and input into the development of a vision and strategic plan for the division.
Ensures annual goals and long-term strategic goals are developed and implemented in the field for operational efficiency, enhanced productivity and to achieve excellence in service.
Develops an operational plan, incorporating goals and objectives, which lead towards attainment of the strategic plan of the Division.
Ensures the operation of the organization meets or exceeds the expectations of its customers, senior leadership, and the organizations financial plans.
Oversees the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the field with field directors.
Oversees complaint management processes, including reporting analysis and action planning, and ensures issues are resolved timely and brought to satisfactory closure.
Analyzes current operational processes and performance, recommending solutions for improvement where necessary.
Performs an acting role, in the absence of the EVP, at senior leadership meetings, as requested.
Fosters and role models effective teamwork in interactions between the field and central office.
Communicates with stakeholders to keep them informed of work in the field and collaborates to identify and achieve opportunities for improvements.
Establishes effective working relationships and collaborative relationships with accredited organizations.
Actively engages, supports and participates in the enterprise-wide DEI strategies.
Creates an environment that supports diversity, equity and inclusion across all field staff.
Supports professional development of direct reports and field staff.
Budget & Financial Stewardship:
Responsible for the budget preparation and management, with the assistance of the ACO project director, for operational and capital budgets for identified cost centers.
including NFRO and the annual field staff education conference.
Ensures ongoing budget performance oversight and completion of monthly variance reporting.
Monitors ongoing budget performance and explores approaches to minimize expenses.
Ensures financial performance at or favorable to budget.
Workforce Planning & Staff Engagement:
Determines staffing requirements for organizational management of field events, on time and with the qualified field team (skill mix -physicians, nurses, pharmacists, etc.
and specialization).
Recruits, interviews, and selects staff that have the right technical and personal abilities to help further the organization's mission.
Ensures each program acquires A level talent to meet business needs.
Maintains an FTE distribution that ensures flexibility for volume variation.
Manages employee engagement (measured through annual employee opinion survey results) and turnover; identifies and implements retention and engagement strategies.
Establishes a positive, healthy, and safe work environment, in accordance with all appropriate legislation and regulations.
Implements a performance management process for all staff, which includes monitoring the performance of staff on an ongoing basis, and providing ongoing coaching as needed.
Coaches and mentors staff as appropriate to improve performance.
Oversees proactive outreach to healthcare organization's C-suite and leadership to obtain voice of customer and integrates this feedback into field representative performance.
Mentors and coaches field directors in the leadership of a remote workforce and improved teamwork.
Oversees the implementation of human resources policies.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred, in healthcare, business, or related field.
Clinician required.

years leadership and people management experience in business operations or clinical operations in a healthcare setting, accreditation operations setting, or healthcare related industry.
Previous experience in Joint Commission accreditation and certification processes required.
Proven ability in creating and operationalizing strategic plans.
Strong interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and change management skills, along with strong financial and analytical skills, including the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including budgeting & finance, workforce planning, service delivery, productivity, and talent management and engagement.
Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity.
Results oriented with demonstrated abilities balancing multiple & complex tasks and priorities to achieve outcomes.
Working knowledge of the current healthcare landscape.
Travel required in the field annually, to evaluate field operations and interact with staff.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
