Our client is a financial
services
company in the Oak Brook area looking for a staff accountant to join their investment group. The candidate's responsibilities are to prepare and analyze monthly processing for various product lines. This includes reviewing, reporting and billing of the underwriting activity of each program based on the terms indicated on the reinsurance contract. In addition, perform account reconciliations, quarterly variance analysis and assist with the completion of the Annual Statement. They will be interacting with several departments within the company as well as outside vendors, intermediaries, and Third Party Administrators, so excellent customer service skills are also required.
Duties:
Heavy account reconciliation role - processed monthly from a 3rd party administrator (60%)
Assist with month end reporting and preparing investment journal entries (20%)
Heavy manual reporting looking for variances, which requires intermediate Excel skills (20%)
Calculate and record monthly and quarterly activity
Analyze activity against the forecast for variances
Monthly/Quarterly reconciliations
Reconcile general ledger balances to ensure reasonableness
Reporting duties include statutory filings on a quarterly basis
Will be responsible for reporting financials and findings back to managers
Qualifications:
4 year degree in Accounting/Finance
Familiarity with insurance or investment accounting
Minimum of 2 years' experience
Experience with efreedom or Oracle a huge PLUS
Intermediate Excel - utilizing vlookups and pivot tables. Any experience with creating macros OR VBA is a strong plus

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
