We are looking for a DB2 iSeries DBA
Contract to hire position in Oak Brook, IL
Ideal salary after 6 months of being a consultant: $70,000 - $78,000
20% bonus based on business performance and (bonus could be as high as 125% of 20% of salary)
The DB2 iSeries DBA is responsible for design, performance, integrity and security of databases. The DBA will work closely with multiple project teams ensuring data architecture and data objects meet all project requirements. The DBA maintains development, integration, QA, and production Relational Database Environments. The primary focus of this position is the IBM DB2 platform, but this position will also be working with SQL Server, Oracle, and Teradata platforms.
Required:
Minimum of three (3) years' experience as a DBA.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills are a must, and knowledge of systems development life cycle methodologies.
Demonstrated ability to negotiate acceptable integration solutions across teams.
Technical requirements include:
Knowledge and experience with IBM DB2 iSeries and related utilities.
Knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
Must be open to learning other technologies as a DBA such as Oracle, SQL Server, and Teradata as they will get cross trained in these technologies for rotational support.
Must be open to support 1 week a month, every 4th week for on call 24/7 support for escalation of production issues and must remain 30 minutes from PC while on call.
Pluses:
Knowledge and experience with Select Refresh or SAP Test Data Subsetting is desirable
Knowledge and experience with Erwin data modeling is desirable.
Knowledge of IBM DB2 z/OS, SQL Server is desirable
