Vehicle Description Vehicle Description 1970 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible.
I am proud to present this excellent example of a 1970 Oldsmobile 442 convertible.
This car is a true survivor from the past.
All engine, transmission, and rear-end numbers are correct and matching.
This is an investment quality car.
There is no rust at all, anywhere on this; car! This car has spent much of its life in Bakersfield California, which for those that are not familiar with that location it is a very dry climate.
Of the years it was in Bakersfield it sat stored in the back of a garage up on blocks, for at least 10 years time, maybe longer.
; It was then sold to a gentleman in San Diego California who revived the car to driver status.
The engine was pulled and resealed, an Edlebrock carburetor was installed, all suspension bushings were replaced, all shocks replaced with high-quality Bilsteins, all springs replaced with heavier duty units - the rear springs included airbag suspension, new heavy-duty sway bars were switched with the stock swaybars, new BFG tires and American racing alloys were installed, a full alignment was performed, and anything mechanical that was not up to par was rebuilt or replaced.
The car was then used as a weekend driver.
With the very little use this car has seen over the years it has only accumulated 85,914 actual miles (not 185,914 miles).

One of the very hottest GM cars to hit the street in 1970 was Oldsmobile's 4-4-2 series.
Drafted from Cutlass and F-85 variants, the beefy 4-4-2 was welcomed into dealers' showrooms for its third season as a five-passenger coupe, a five-passenger hardtop and a drop-top convertible.
Sizzle is what 4-4-2 did best standing still.
Now fully evolved as a muscle car, engineers gave the Olds heavy-duty springs, stabilizer bar, special shock absorbers and wheels, special emblems, hood louvers, unique paint stripe, special tires, and a high output engine.
A 455 CID high compression V-8 churning out 365 horsepower was introduced in the 1970 model.
It would be the largest ever offered.

The original 455ci engine numbers match the VIN New Edlebrock carburetor with w/electric choke.

12 bolt rear end 15? American Racing Torque Thrust alloy wheels, the original wheels are included Large aftermarket front and rear sway bars - this car handles very well, there is almost no body roll on hard cornering.
Aftermarket springs with rear air bags to adjust the height of the car, Bilstein shocks All suspension bushings have been replaced, all of the suspension front and rear tight New convertible top New carpet New Door panels New seat covers New dash woodgrain New trunk mat and tire cover New original style reproduction; floor mats Original radio.
The only modifications that change this car from original are American Racing Alloy Wheels, Edlebrock Carburator and Aftermarket Sway Bars.
